“Malignant” is the latest creation from “Conjuring” universe architect James Wan (“Aquaman,” “Furious 7”). The film marks director Wan’s return to his roots with this new original horror thriller.

In the film, Madison is paralyzed by shocking visions of grisly murders, and her torment worsens as she discovers that these waking dreams are in fact terrifying realities.

“Malignant” stars Annabelle Wallis (“Annabelle,” “The Mummy”), Maddie Hasson (YouTube’s “Impulse,” TV’s “Mr. Mercedes”), George Young (TV’s “Containment”), Michole Briana White (TV’s “Black Mafia Family,” “Dead to Me”), Jacqueline McKenzie (“Palm Beach,” TV’s “Reckoning”), Jake Abel (TV’s “Supernatural,” the “Percy Jackson” films) and Ingrid Bisu (“The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It,” “The Nun”).

Wan (“Aquaman,” “Furious 7”) directed from a screenplay by Akela Cooper (“M3GAN,” upcoming “The Nun 2”), story by Wan & Ingrid Bisu and Cooper. The film was produced by Wan and Michael Clear, with Eric McLeod, Judson Scott, Bisu, Peter Luo, Cheng Yang, Mandy Yu and Lei Han serving as executive producers.

Behind the scenes, Wan was joined by his frequent collaborators, director of photography Don Burgess and editor Kirk Morri (“Aquaman,” “The Conjuring 2”), production designer Desma Murphy (art director, “Aquaman,” “Furious 7”), as well as costume designer Lisa Norcia (“Insidious: The Last Key”). The music is by Joseph Bishara, who has composed the score for all seven films in “The Conjuring” Universe, among many others.

New Line Cinema Presents, In Association With Starlight Media Inc. and My Entertainment Inc., An Atomic Monster Production, a James Wan Film, “Malignant,” will be released by Warner Bros. Pictures on September 10, 2021 in theaters nationwide and on HBO Max via their Ad-Free plan in 4K UHD, HDR10, and Dolby Vision on supported devices; it will be available on HBO Max for 31 days from theatrical release.

“Malignant” has been rated R for strong horror violence and gruesome images, and for language.

Warner Bros. Pictures Acquires Worldwide Rights To SXSW Multi-Award Winner THE FALLOUT For HBO Max

Warner Bros. Pictures has acquired worldwide rights to the SXSW multiple-award-winning feature THE FALLOUT. Written and directed by Megan Park in her feature filmmaking debut, THE FALLOUT won the Grand Jury and Audience Awards for Narrative Feature, and Park won the Brightcove Illumination Award honoring a filmmaker on the rise at this year’s SXSW Film Festival. The film will release exclusively on HBO Max where available globally and will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures in the balance of international markets.

The cast includes Jenna Ortega delivering a career-defining performance, along with Maddie Ziegler, Niles Fitch, Will Ropp, Lumi Pollack, John Ortiz, Julie Bowen and Shailene Woodley. The story follows high schooler Vada (Ortega) as she navigates the emotional fallout she experiences in the wake of a school tragedy. Relationships with her family and friends, as well as her view of the world, are forever altered.

“Making THE FALLOUT was a journey I never expected to take and one that has changed me forever,” stated Park. “If by seeing this film just one teen feels less alone, less afraid, or somehow understood, that will make the journey worth every step.”

THE FALLOUT was produced by Shaun Sanghani of SSS Entertainment and David Brown of Clear Horizon alongside Rebecca Miller, Cara Shine and Todd Lundbohm. Joannie Burstein and Giulia Prenna also produced. The film was financed by SSS Film Capital, Clear Media Finance, and 828 Media Capital.

Park’s behind-the-scenes creative team included director of photography Kristen Correll, production designer Justin Dragonas, editor Jennifer Lee, costume designer Tasha Goldthwait and composer Finneas O’Connell.

Ahead of her Super Bowl LV performance this Sunday (2/7), H.E.R. returns to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert for a special television debut performance of “Fight For You” tonight (2/4) at 11:35pm ET on CBS.

“Fight For You” can be heard in the highly anticipated Warner Bros. motion picture Judas and the Black Messiah, which will be released in the U.S. in theaters and on HBO Max on February 12, 2021. This morning the creator of the viral Renegade Challenge, Jalaiah Harmon teamed up with Warner Bros. Pictures for a new TikTok Challenge in anticipation of the new animated feature adventure, SCOOB! releasing digitally on May 15!

Following an insightful Teen Vogue feature where Jalaiah shared her excitement and simultaneous frustration with not being credited for the viral Renegade Challenge, Warner Bros. Pictures jumped on the opportunity to collaborate with her for her first official brand partnership since she created the choreography for the dance craze a few months back. Jalaiah told Teen Vogue that her dream job is to be a choreographer shortly before teaming up with Scooby-Doo to create another TikTok dance sensation.

The original music for #ScoobDance was written especially for TikTok by the creative agency Movers+Shakers, the creators of the most viral brand song in TikTok U.S. history, #eyeslipsface.

BACKGROUND STORY OF JALAIAH HARMON:

14-year-old Jalaiah Harmon is the creator of the viral “Renegade” dance, set to K Camp’s song “Lottery,” which has landed her a video collaboration with K Camp, an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and even a performance at the 2020 NBA All-Star game.

The classically trained dancer choreographed the dance in September 2019 but, until recently, failed to receive proper credit for coming up with the dance craze which became hugely popular. “I was happy when I saw my dance all over,” she said in a New York Times feature. “But I wanted credit for it.” Continuing her momentum online with over 2.2M TikTok followers, Jalaiah says her dream job is to be a choreographer and to continues to work on her craft to get there.
