A teacher in Covington who is accused of raping a minor has been arrested and charged by the Tipton County Sheriff’s Office.
Alissa McCommon, aged 38 and from Covington, Tennessee, was identified as the teacher.
Several underage victims have come forward, claiming that their ex-teacher, McCommon, befriended them, started playing video games, and subsequently interacted with them on social media apps through their mobile phones. This allegedly resulted in her sending inappropriate pictures and soliciting sexual encounters with the victims.
McCommon confessed to engaging in inappropriate communication with former students. There is no evidence indicating that any of the alleged actions took place within the school premises.
The Tipton County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) detectives started collaborating with CPD detectives after they received information about a victim or victims who had been exposed to similar circumstances within the jurisdiction of the county but outside the limits of Covington city.
McCommon was taken to the Tipton County jail and a bond of $25,000.00 has been set in the case.
