Emerging R&B singer/songwriter Allyn shared her After Hours EP in the Spring and today returns with a brand new music video for “Signal” featuring Phabo. Directed by Seveneight and capturing the late-night ambiance, the video follows Allyn on a date night and demonstrates the mistrust and acrimony incited by a deceitful partner.
On the EP, Allyn says: “After Hours” is essentially inspired by the thoughts and feelings someone goes through during late-night hours and has a variety of meanings – from dealing with insecurities to the unknown of people’s true intentions, while still being transparent and sexy.”
Born in Sacramento and living in Los Angeles, the West Coast artist fell in love with music at three years old starting with the violin – going on to play 4 more instruments throughout childhood. As a classical musician, Allyn started in the orchestra and then later found her love for R&B in the studio after relocating to LA and sharing her first EP All You Need in 2018.
Allyn followed up in 2021 with Overthinking EP and began writing music for TV shows like FOX’s Empire, Tyler Perry’s Sistas, and more. Allyn has worked with artists like Dom Kennedy, Mozzy, Cozz, Reason, Ye Ali, and more, and now with After Hours she has newfound growth. Allyn wants the world to hear this project while being able to relax and be intuitive with their thoughts. Stay tuned for more this year on Allyn.
