Andrew Garfield, renowned for portraying Spider-Man in “The Amazing Spider-Man” series and reprising the role in “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” has addressed circulating rumors about his potential involvement in “Spider-Man 4.” In a recent interview with British GQ, Garfield stated, “I’m gonna disappoint you. Yeah, no. But I know no one’s gonna trust anything I say from now on.”
This skepticism stems from Garfield’s previous denials about participating in “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” which were later proven false upon the film’s release. Reflecting on that period, Garfield mentioned, “I lied to the internet for two years, and it felt great.”
Despite his current denial, fans remain hopeful for Garfield’s return to the Spider-Man franchise. However, the actor has clarified that he is not involved in any upcoming Spider-Man projects at this time. He also addressed rumors about starring in Martin Scorsese’s upcoming film, “A Life of Jesus,” stating, “There was a rumour… It’s not true to my knowledge.”
Garfield is set to appear in a Luca Guadagnino film alongside Julia Roberts and an adaptation of “The Magic Faraway Tree” with Claire Foy. He expressed enthusiasm for future projects, noting, “I like working as well. You can’t just keep waiting for Scorsese to call, ’cause he makes a movie every three years and a lot of the time Leo DiCaprio is in it.”
While the possibility of Garfield donning the Spider-Man suit again remains uncertain, his recent statements suggest that, for now, he is not involved in “Spider-Man 4.”
