Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling Set to Star as Danny Ocean’s Parents in Upcoming ‘Oceans’ Prequel

Fans of the Ocean’s Eleven franchise were ecstatic when it was announced last year that Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling would reprise their roles as Barbie and Ken in a new installment. The plot takes an intriguing turn, however, when the Hollywood A-listers are cast to play the parents of the iconic Danny Ocean, previously played by George Clooney.

The upcoming film, appropriately titled “Oceans,” is a prequel to the original Ocean’s Eleven trilogy rather than a sequel. According to Showbiz411, the story will be set in the 1960s, providing a nostalgic backdrop. This era will almost certainly pay homage to the original 1960 “Ocean’s 11,” which starred Frank Sinatra as the heist’s mastermind.

While plot details are being kept under wraps, it has been revealed that “Oceans” will revolve around the Ocean parents teaching their children the art of planning heists and stealing from the wealthy. The film promises a mix of family dynamics and high-stakes capers as the next generation learns the ins and outs of their parents’ daring world.

Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, along with her contemporary charm, was instrumental in luring Ryan Gosling. Producers were reportedly captivated by Robbie and Gosling’s on-screen chemistry, setting the stage for a promising collaboration.

“Oceans” is directed by Jay Roach, who is best known for his work on the critically acclaimed drama “Bombshell,” which earned Robbie an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Both Robbie and Roach are producing through their respective labels, LuckyChap and Everyman Pictures.
