AOC Praises Joe Biden Climate Plan After His Administration Reportedly Approved 31 Drilling Permits

Joe Biden administration has issued at least 31 new drilling permits authorizing operations on federal land and coastal waters, Bloomberg reports.

The move signals drilling authorizations are continuing to flow, despite Biden’s plan to pause oil and gas leasing.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) received backlash for his recent comments praising Joe Biden climate plan. AOC tells MSNBC she’s “extraordinarily encouraged” by Biden’s action on climate so far.

“[Biden had] a good-faith openness and relationship to activist communities…Saying ‘we are not going to be resistant to grassroots movements, but we’re going to collaborate with grassroots movements to create as many jobs and as much justice as possible.’”

Many people on social media are feeling betrayed and feel like AOC has switched up her stances in the last few months.

Biden just issued 31 drilling permits, lied about $2000 checks, refuses to support a ban on fracking or Green New Deal, hasn’t released the kids in cages, doesn’t support Medicare for All, but according to @AOC he’s working with “grassroots movements.” This is called gaslighting.
