Remember Maximus Decimus Meridius? Yeah, us too. That was like, forever ago! But guess what? Ridley Scott, the OG director, is dusting off his sandals and heading back to Rome for a Gladiator sequel.
This time, we’re following Lucius, Connie Nielsen’s character Lucilla’s son, all grown up and played by Paul Mescal (you might know him from Aftersun). The new trailer just dropped, and let’s just say it’s three minutes of pure gladiatorial awesome, so make sure to watch it below.
Even though Scott’s pushing 90, the dude can still deliver an epic. The trailer opens with a flashback narrated by Mescal’s Lucius, setting the revenge vibe strong. The dude hasn’t forgotten what happened to his pops. Fast forward, and he’s far from home, getting trained for the arena by Denzel Washington (who looks like a total badass, by the way).
Lucius is on a mission to take down the new emperors, Caracalla (played by that creepy dude from Stranger Things) and Geta. Rebellion is brewing, and Lucius is gonna be right in the thick of it. The trailer is packed with fight scenes – Lucius versus Pedro Pascal’s character (who Lucius probably really wants to mess up), a freaking rhino, the whole nine yards.
Get ready to be entertained. Gladiator II hits theaters on November 22nd. Time to grab your popcorn and prepare for some epic battles!

Paul Mescal & Denzel Washington gonna sweep all the awards with this one!
As if the battle between Pedro and Paul, the two beefy twinks, weren’t enough, the “No Church in the Wild” needle drop made the subtext text. Needless to say, I am in, front and center! Lets freaking GO Gladiator II!
Shout out to the versatile Joseph Quinn 😂
