Thirty-year-old Gianfranco Gaspar Núñez, who pretends to be an audiovisual producer, is currently detained before trial following accusations that he headed a major digital sexual exploitation network aimed at sexually exploiting adult females and minors in Argentina.
According to the authorities, the suspect lured victims via a platform known as Argentina Casting, claiming to pay individuals to work in the audiovisual industry and promising international exposure for their work. However, the videos were posted online without the victims’ consent, despite the promise of anonymity. The man allegedly benefited financially from the scam.
The Argentine government identified three fundamental aspects of the fraud: deception, non-consensual video production, and failure to pay victims.
This case was investigated by the Federal Department of Investigations, resulting in a coordinated raid in the provinces of Rosario, Buenos Aires, and Misiones. The authorities named the operation Casting para Preso, meaning “Casting for Prisoner” in Spanish.
Over 150 videos associated with the digital sexual exploitation network have been recovered as part of the investigation.
Núñez faces human trafficking and digital sexual exploitation charges according to the laws of Argentina. According to federal justice authorities, further investigations are being done to find additional victims and possibly accomplices.
