Ariana Grande has officially announced her eighth studio album, titled petal, to be released on July 31 after months of speculation regarding a potential follow-up to the singer’s 2024 record, Eternal Sunshine. The album consists of 12 songs.

The star herself will be an executive producer of the record, alongside the Iranian-Swedish producer Ilya Salmanzadeh. Known professionally as ILYA, he is a longtime collaborator of Max Martin. ILYA and Martin have been producing Ariana Grande’s music since 2014, starting from the single “Problem.”

Together, ILYA and Martin wrote many of the songs on Eternal Sunshine, including the singles “Yes, And?” and “We Can’t Be Friends.” Curiously enough, although Martin was one of the collaborators, he is not mentioned among the executive producers of petal.

“petal is something that is full of life and growing through the cracks of something cold and hard and challenging,” said the artist in the press release.

Ariana Grande will seemingly own the masters of her new album, petal. It is released by the production company BabyDoll Music, jointly with her record label, Republic Records.

This decision comes right after Ariana’s efforts in her acting career, including appearing in the trailer for the upcoming movie Focker In-Law.

Finally, Grande’s tour, titled Eternal Sunshine, is set to start in June in Oakland, and her album petal will be released close to the tour’s end.
