Verity, a psychological thriller based on Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel, will soon hit the big screens with the launch of its teaser trailer. Amazon MGM Studios has announced that the film will have an exclusive theatrical run on October 2, 2026.
Among its stars is Academy Award-winning actress Anne Hathaway. She is joined by actors Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett in their respective roles in the film.
In Verity, Hathaway stars as the famous author Verity Crawford, whose secluded home becomes the backdrop of a mind-boggling mystery. On the other hand, Johnson takes up the role of Lowen Ashleigh, who was commissioned to ghostwrite Verity’s books. As Lowen reads the notes she believes to be Verity’s autobiographies, she finds it difficult to distinguish between fiction and reality, and even whether she is being manipulated or seduced by her subject’s husband, Jeremy (Hartnett).
The film is directed by Michael Showalter from a script written by Nick Antosca. Verity is produced by Antosca, Alex Hedlund, Stacy Sher, Showalter, Jordana Mollick, Hathaway, and Hoover with Kerry Orent, Johnson, and Lauren Levine as executive producers.
This latest addition completes the list of movies adapted from Hoover’s bestselling fiction novels.
Verity will debut in theaters on October 2, 2026.
