Roadside Attractions has announced the theatrical release of “FIREBRAND” on June 14th, 2024. The historical drama promises to captivate audiences with its gripping narrative set in blood-soaked Tudor England.
Directed by Karim Aïnouz and boasting a stellar cast including Alicia Vikander, Jude Law, Eddie Marsan, Simon Russell Beale, Sam Riley, and Erin Doherty, “FIREBRAND” delves into the tumultuous life of Katherine Parr, the sixth wife of the tyrannical King Henry VIII.
The film follows Katherine Parr, portrayed by Alicia Vikander, as she reluctantly accepts the perilous role of Henry’s wife. Amidst a court rife with political intrigue and treachery, Katherine finds herself navigating a dangerous path as she grapples with Henry’s paranoia and the looming threat of her predecessors’ fate.
As Henry departs to fight overseas, he appoints Katherine as Regent, thrusting her into a position of power that only adds to the suspicions of Henry’s courtiers. With radical Protestant beliefs stirring unrest in the kingdom, Katherine’s allegiances are questioned, and she must tread carefully to avoid the same fate as those before her.
