Baltimore prosecutors have dropped their case against Adnan Syed.
He spent 23 years in prison fighting a murder conviction on charges that he murdered his former high school girlfriend, Hae Min Lee. His case became a priority to many after the “Serial” podcast highlighted it on their podcast.
The judge overturned his conviction last month after investigators identified two alternate suspects. Now today, Syed is a free man. He was 18-years-old when he went to prison for the murder of Hae Min Lee.
The public still has a problem on our hands. Who killed Hae Min Lee in 1999? Lee’s murder still remains a mystery and hasn’t gotten any justice for her death.
