Billie Eilish has reached new heights with the release of her third studio album, HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, which marks her best album launch to yet. The record, which was released on May 17 by Darkroom/Interscope Records, has already surpassed 500 million global streams and debuted at #1 in 14 countries, with additional chart data due early next week.

The album, which was written entirely by the 22-year-old Eilish and produced by her brother FINNEAS, contains ten tunes. This cooperation produced a critically acclaimed effort that outperformed her 2019 debut album WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? in the first week of sales. The debut album, which represented a watershed moment in Eilish’s career, has subsequently received over 69 billion streams and sold 7.7 million units in the United States and 17.8 million worldwide.

Among the songs of HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, the lead single “LUNCH” has been particularly popular. In its first week of release, it was the most added song in the United States, with over 250 radio stations playing the single and reaching an audience of over 20 million across many formats.

LUNCH” is also the most streamed song internationally via platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, and iTunes. The music video for “LUNCH,” filmed by Eilish herself, has the highest launch for a solo single on YouTube this year.

Since launching HIT ME HARD AND SOFT last month, Eilish’s social media following has increased by an incredible 23 million, demonstrating her global reach and the excitement surrounding her latest release.

Eilish has constantly shattered records since her debut single “Ocean Eyes” in 2015. She created history by becoming the youngest artist to be nominated and win in all major categories at the 62nd GRAMMY® Awards in 2020, including Best New Artist, Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Vocal Album.

She is also the youngest musician to create and perform an official James Bond theme tune, “No Time To Die,” which received an Academy Award for Best Original tune in 2022.

Her 2023 release, “What Was I Made For?” for the Barbie film, received an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song, and two GRAMMY® Awards for Song of the Year and Best Song Written for Visual Media, cementing her place in music history as the youngest person to win two Academy Awards.

This fall, Billie Eilish will begin the North American phase of her HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: THE TOUR, with plans to expand to Europe and Australia in 2025.

HIT ME HARD AND SOFT is out now and available on all major streaming platforms.
