Bollywood Actress Ananya Raj Dies at 27

Ananya Raj, who acted in Bollywood movies 7 Hours to Go, The Final Exit, and Ghost, has passed away at age 27. According to her family members, who released a statement on her passing through her Instagram handle on August 15, she passed away a month ago.

According to the statement issued by her family through her Instagram handle, she breathed her last on July 15 early morning after battling various health issues both physically and mentally for over a year. “She fought like a warrior to overcome them,” added her family, describing her as a “strong spirited girl” and “lived like a Queen”. They requested everyone to keep her in their prayers.

The family also pleaded with everyone for privacy during this tough period, adding that there is no information regarding the reason behind her death. Glimpses of her last rites and funeral have also been shared by her family, as reported by News9.

She was born and brought up in Mumbai and worked in Hindi and regional films. Her acting career began in theater and modeling. She enrolled in an acting school after Class 12 and later joined a theater group before auditioning for films and TV serials, according to a 2022 interview.

She debuted in Bollywood with 7 Hours to Go in 2016, followed by The Final Exit in 2017 and the 2019 horror movie Ghost.

Beyond Hindi movies, her other films include the Telugu thriller Thaggede Le, opposite Naveen Chandra, and the trilingual movie Madrasi Gang. She also appeared in music videos for labels including T Series, Zee Music, and Times Music, as per The Sunday Guardian. Her last Instagram post, which is dated May 17, includes a picture of a photo shoot with the caption “Black and white. It’s time to shine.”
