Cardi B made an open apology to Latto over a harsh comment from a 2025 phone call that got leaked. She stated she wasn’t in her right mind at the time because she was eight months pregnant and super stressed out. The last thing she wanted was to hurt Latto.

The call showed Cardi bickering with Ice Spice’s team. During the argument, she repeatedly referred to Latto using a rude term. Interestingly, Latto and Ice Spice had sorted their differences, so this incident came out of nowhere. Latto pointed out that she and Cardi usually kept in contact and were chill with each other back then.

In a lengthy tweet, Cardi B addressed Latto directly.

“I truly understand how you feel…and that’s exactly why I chose to apologize publicly because the disrespect became public,” she wrote. “On that call, I didn’t even mean to call you that; I didn’t mean any harm. There’s a difference in what I said vs what I meant. What I could have said was you was too forgiving and gave too much mercy in that situation. But it was a heated conversation, and I let my mouth get the best of me.”

During that rough period, she dropped her album “Am I The Drama?” right before this leak scandal. When everything exploded online, she was mega emotional and worn out.

“When the call came out, I was eight months pregnant, had just released my album, and was extremely overwhelmed and emotional,” she wrote. “That’s not to excuse what I said but to let you know where I was in my head.”

Post-incident, the rapper reached out multiple times, hoping to make amends with Latto through her sister, her boss, and direct messages, but they never seemed to work out.

“I genuinely felt bad about what happened. In 2025 and 2026, I made multiple attempts to connect…I spoke with your manager, your sister, and even texted you directly to take full responsibility,” she wrote. “I always had love and respect for you. I always wanted to make it right but making it right looks different for the both of us. I wanted to connect with you, but you wanted to address it on your album.”

Latto revealed during a recent Breakfast Club appearance that the card aimed at Cardi B was simply a line she casually threw into her track, and she hadn’t thought it was a beef. The lyric occurred when she rushed to contribute to Cardi B’s album early in her own pregnancy, shortly before this drama surfaced.

“I was at an early stage of my pregnancy, and I rushed to the studio to do this verse for her first week’s sales,” Latto said. “Literally like two days later, I’m seeing all over the internet I’m being called p—y.”

True enough, Cardi B extended her regrets, yet it took a good six weeks before Latto got a private message from her. By that point, the ordeal didn’t bother her anymore, and they hadn’t spoken a word ever since.
