CASANDRA’s ‘ISLA TRANQUILITA’ Is a Love Letter to Cuba, Miami and the Woman Who Raised Her Spirit

CASANDRA has just released her latest album, ISLA TRANQUILITA, an extension of the EP of the same name released in May.

Isla Tranquilita is Spanish for little island of peace. It symbolizes the artist’s Cuban roots and is dedicated to her late great-aunt, Teresa. Throughout her childhood, Teresa instilled in her the importance of tranquility, even amid life’s madness. As the artist puts it, she now applies that wisdom in her songs.

The album mixes contemporary R&B, Cuban soul, alt-pop, and electronic beats. It consists of songs in English and Spanish. The album explores the themes of happiness, melancholy, sadness, and healing in relation to the landscapes, sounds, and feelings from her upbringing.

ISLA TRANQUILITA is a full-length version of the earlier EP. The latter had six songs while the former has an additional seven: MUÑEQUITA, FELL FROM A TREE THEY SAID, HOURGLASS, BUENA SUERTA, SUMMON FIRE, RESERVED 4 ME, and TEARPROOF.

Raised mostly at home, CASANDRA has been producing music ever since her teenage years. She has over a decade of experience developing her artistic voice based on vulnerability and emotional authenticity. According to the artist, it is both a mirror and a sanctuary, where imagination, sensuality, healing, and freedom come together.

Now, ISLA TRANQUILITA brings her into the new era of connections, discovery, and acceptance.
