Canadian singer-songwriter Charlotte Cardin will drop her third studio album, titled Midnight, mon amour, on January 29, 2027.

Before the album, the bilingual singer released a new single in both languages, titled Memories. A music video accompanies the track and sounds like an upbeat earworm that captures the start of a night out while prompting thoughts about how emotions can change memories of the past.

According to Cardin, the track’s theme is about thoughts that loop for so long they start to change. The more you think about something, especially under the influence of your emotions, the more it changes and colors your memory.

Midnight, mon amour discusses the dual nature of things. This album reflects the conflict between social standards and the hidden sides of us, the day/night dichotomy, and the contradictions of being a woman.

“I really wanted to explore all of the inner duality that I’ve been feeling as a woman in the last few years, and I wanted to use those oppositions and those contradictory feelings as something empowering and liberating,” Cardin says.

Together with her former collaborator, Jason Brando, Cardin created a “shadow album,” a place where taboo fantasies, secrets, dark sides, and desires can find their place.

Cardin’s interest in what people usually hide in daylight remains the same, and it shows in the album’s language: the artist switches from French to English to inhabit different sides of her personality.

The album includes two previously released songs. The provocative, catchy song Tant pis pour elle was published in September 2025 and became certified gold in France. In March, Cardin released The Way We Touch, which is also included in the album. It is a light and cheerful song.

The artist was born in Montreal and currently lives in Paris. Cardin gained global popularity thanks to her incredible honesty and sincerity. Billboard named Cardin Global Woman of the Year in 2025, and she has accumulated more than a billion streams worldwide. She performed on such stages as Bonnaroo, Festival d’Été de Québec, and Les Vieilles Charrues. Her performances drew attention from Harper’s Bazaar, W Magazine, TF1, and Le Parisien.

Cardin’s breakthrough came in 2021 with her debut album Phoenix, which earned six Juno nominations and won four awards, including Album of the Year and Single of the Year for Meaningless. The album quickly became platinum in Canada, becoming the first album by a Canadian artist to top the Canadian Billboard chart since Céline Dion in 2016.

Her 2023 sophomore album, 99 Nights, became the turning point of Cardin’s career. It reached 9th on Spotify’s Global Debut Chart and won Juno Awards for Album of the Year and Pop Album of the Year. The 2024 track Feel Good is now diamond-certified in France and has surpassed 100 million streams.

Cardin recently won Female Artist of the Year at France’s Victoires de la Musique.
