Chris Brown Ordered to Pay $13 Million After Dog Mauling Left Housekeeper Disfigured

Chris Brown was forced to pay his ex-housekeeper $13 million by a jury following the determination of his liability in a civil trial that stemmed from an assault by his dog in 2020. In the attack, the former housekeeper was left permanently disfigured.

Avila sought initial compensation of $90 million.

According to court testimony, the ex-housekeeper, Maria Avila, stated that she was disposing of trash when the Caucasian Shepherd named Hades attacked her unprovoked. During the attack, the dog allegedly mauled her face, arm, and foot, resulting in extensive bleeding and requiring emergency medical attention.

In the trial, Avila argued that the pop singer went out to check if she was breathing after being mauled by his dog, but then left the scene rather than calling the police. Chris Brown stated that he had done all of that; however, he relied on his security team to handle the emergency.

It is worth noting that the case had previously ended in a mistrial due to juror misconduct. However, when the case was retried, the jury compensated Avila $13 million.
