Daphne Joy has made a statement concerning an unapproved explicit tape which apparently features Joy alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs and adult performer Sly Diggler.
Joy claims that she was neither consulted nor given her approval for the filming process, and was subsequently threatened by someone involved in the matter.
According to a social media post by Daphne Joy, she was blackmailed by one of the people featured in the footage.
“I was blackmailed by the person in the video and was threatened that if I didn’t give him the lump sum of money, they would leak it on the web,” Joy stated.
She refuses to comply, and as a result, the person in question sells the tape to a media outlet, which contacts the actress before publication.
“The media outlet called me one day and said they had the tape and asked if I had any comment before the release. It was the first time I ever fainted in my life,” Joy writes.
The media outlet decided not to broadcast the footage after learning the true nature of the transaction.
“Once the media company understood the tape they purchased was r** p*** and an extortion scheme, they backed off from broadcasting it,” Joy added.
The sex tape has since appeared online, and watching it has caused the actor emotional distress.
“It took me all day to find the courage to rewatch my abuse,” Joy continued. “Having to watch this tape was triggering and painful because only I knew the inner turmoil and pressures I felt in those moments.”
Joy describes her experience as emotionally coercive; her partner at the time made her do whatever he wanted, even when she was unhappy.
“I just wanted my man at the time to be happy and satisfied. I wanted to fulfill all his desires, even if that meant breaking my own boundaries,” she continues. “I deeply loved him, and I believed he loved me too.”
She further goes on to talk about how this experience has changed her understanding of herself.
“This is the first time that I have ever felt a part of my own body and that my body belongs to me. I am precious, I am special, I am worthy.”
