A Toronto rapper who is currently incarcerated, Tory Lanez, is seeking a restraining order against a corrections officer who has allegedly threatened him with violence, per court documents.
Lanez claims that he feels unsafe in prison because he might be transferred to an even more dangerous prison housing unit for filing the civil lawsuit worth $100 million against the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, as well as the officials. According to his claim, the officer said some menacing words regarding the stabbing incident he went through last year.
While being attacked, Lanez got stabbed 14 times, and his lungs collapsed twice. Afterward, he filed a civil suit against the CDCR and prison officials, alleging they failed to ensure his safety.
Now he wants the federal court to prohibit the officer from making any contact with him in prison, as his lawsuit has endangered him from receiving further retaliatory measures.
Lanez claims that he has been facing harassment ever since his stabbing incident occurred, and he feels that he might be transferred to a worse housing unit for filing his lawsuit.
