Sydney Sweeney managed to convince the show’s creator, Sam Levinson, to include nude scenes for the series’ third season. The actor felt the scenes were necessary to be true to her character.
In an interview for The New York Times’ Popcast, Levinson revealed that he initially considered shooting Cassie without any nudity, since she is portrayed as an OnlyFans model in the upcoming season. But Sydney had other plans.
“Well, it’s funny. When I first wrote it, I was like, ‘Maybe we shoot all of this, and we don’t have any nudity,'” Levinson said. “And she looked at me, and she was like, ‘Are you kidding? I’m playing an OnlyFans model. You’re telling me you’re going to, like, skirt around it?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, OK, that’s a fair point.'”
In the end, Levinson conceded that the scenes made sense within the context of Cassie’s storyline. Levinson praised Sweeney as a fearless, professional, and dedicated actress.
