Taylor Swift is moving to infinity and beyond.

The 14-time Grammy winner is set to premiere an original song for the upcoming fifth installment of Disney and Pixar’s iconic Toy Story franchise, which Disney and Pixar announced on Monday.

Fans are already thrilled about Swift’s return to her musical roots in the song called “I Knew It, I Knew You,” which was composed and produced by Taylor and her collaborator Jack Antonoff. It will be available on all major music streaming services and purchase sites starting Friday, June 5, two weeks ahead of the movie’s theatrical release on June 19.

This follows Swift’s latest release titled “The Life of a Showgirl” just recently.

In the new song, Swift focuses on Jessie, the cowgirl featured for the first time in the sequel to the original Toy Story movies, whose story continues in the next installment. According to the artist, the character has made a deep impression on her, as she has incorporated the country sound into her signature range of musical genres.

The film director and writer Andrew Stanton shared his thoughts on the song.

“It’s incredible just how meaningful it’s been having Taylor write and perform this song,” Stanton said. “Her connection to Jessie and the immediate way she understood what the character was going through was undeniable. The song is so deeply connected to ‘Toy Story.’ So much so that on first listen, it instantly felt like it had always belonged there, like a long-lost family member. It was kismet.”

Three CD versions of the song can be ordered via Swift’s website, featuring the film version, an acoustic version, and a piano version, each with different vocals and production.

The teaser announcement was impressive. Starting last Friday, mysterious “TS” posters began popping up in various places around the world, hinting at a connection between Toy Story and Taylor Swift.

The count of days left until the new movie, along with additional billboards in New York and Los Angeles, added a sense of mystery to the announcement until Monday.

Toy Story 5 is set to hit cinemas on June 19.
