DUNE: PROPHECY to Return for Season 2

HBO has officially renewed its critically acclaimed drama series DUNE: PROPHECY for a second season. The announcement comes ahead of the season one finale, which is set to air on Sunday, December 22, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.

The series, co-produced with Legendary Television, has become a global phenomenon, with the premiere episode attracting approximately 15 million viewers across Max territories.

An Expansive New Chapter in the Dune Universe

Set 10,000 years before Paul Atreides’ rise, DUNE: PROPHECY delves into the origins of the Bene Gesserit, the mysterious sisterhood central to Frank Herbert’s Dune saga. Inspired by Sisterhood of Dune, the novel by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, the series chronicles the journey of two Harkonnen sisters as they confront forces that threaten the survival of humanity and lay the groundwork for their fabled order.

The ensemble cast includes Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Mark Strong, and Jodhi May, alongside a diverse array of rising stars.

Creative Team Behind the Success

DUNE: PROPHECY is helmed by showrunner Alison Schapker, with Diane Ademu-John as co-developer and executive producer. Anna Foerster directed multiple episodes, including the series opener. The team of executive producers includes Jordan Goldberg, Scott Z. Burns, Jon Spaihts, and Brian Herbert, with Kevin J. Anderson serving as co-producer.
