Eminem has released “Houdini,” the first single from his highly anticipated 12th studio album, “The Death of Slim Shady.”

The new track, “Houdini,” sees Eminem referencing his long-time manager Paul Rosenberg, and his 2002 hit single “Without Me,” while also alluding to the 2020 shooting incident involving Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez. In his signature style, Eminem raps, “If I was to ask for Megan Thee Stallion if she would collab with me / Would I really have a shot at a feat? I don’t know, but I’m glad to be, back.”

Produced by Eminem and his frequent collaborator Luis Resto, the music video for “Houdini” pays homage to “Without Me.” The video opens with a scene of Eminem stepping out of a portal from the year 2002, instantly transporting viewers back in time. The video features guest appearances from a star-studded lineup including 50 Cent, Alchemist, Pete Davidson, Dr. Dre, and Snoop Dogg, among others.

One of the video’s most striking elements is the dual appearance of Eminem — with one version representing his 2002 persona and the other reflecting his current-day self. This nostalgic yet innovative approach has struck a chord with fans, propelling the video to over 1 million views within just a few hours of its release.

Despite the excitement surrounding “Houdini,” the release date for “The Death of Slim Shady” remains under wraps. Fans eagerly await more news and are speculating about what surprises Eminem might have in store.
