Fitness Influencer Charged with DWI in Crash with Her Two Sons in Car

The arrest of a Long Island woman identified as a fitness influencer was reported due to her involvement in a car accident caused by suspected drunk driving while carrying her two young kids in the same vehicle.

Jesher Rivera-Barreto, age 31, from Medford, shared pictures on social media showing her consumption of alcoholic beverages during the day prior to the crash incident, law enforcement said.

As reported by LongIsland.com, the woman was apprehended by Suffolk County Police after midnight Saturday when she was accused of driving under the influence of alcohol with her 1-year-old and 4-year-old sons in the vehicle.

As reported by LongIsland.com, Jesher Rivera-Barreto was operating a 2006 Toyota 4Runner southbound on Horseblock Road close to the junction with Montauk Highway when she was said to have lost control and gone off the road before crashing into the woods around 11:25 p.m., the outlet added.

Both the driver and the children were transported to NYU Langone Hospital – Suffolk in Patchogue for medical evaluation. While the younger kid and Jesher suffered minor injuries, the 4-year-old was not hurt, the outlet reported. Both kids were left in their father’s care.

Ms. Rivera-Barreto was charged with felony offenses of aggravated DWI with a child passenger under 15 years old (under Leandra’s Law), as well as the misdemeanor offenses of DWI and endangering the welfare of a child (twice), according to LongIsland.com.

The woman was taken to the Fourth Precinct overnight and scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip, the outlet reported.
