On Sunday night, after complaining about noise, a Brooklyn man fatally shot his neighbors. A father and his stepson were killed in the altercation. Bladimy Mathurin, 47, and Chinwai Mode, 27, were identified as the victims who were shot outside their apartment in the hallway. The New York Police Department has released surveillance video of the tragic incident.
What happened in Bladimy Mathurin and Chinwai Mode final moments?
According to a police source, the NYPD has recovered surveillance footage that shows the gunman living on the third floor of the apartment complex on Brooklyn Avenue. The footage captures him rushing upstairs to confront his neighbors because of the excessive noise.
According to the police, an argument took place between the victims and their discontented neighbor, subsequently escalating into the hallway.
Based on the police report, Mathurin initially went back to his house, but soon after, he emerged while carrying a pair of scissors.
As per the police, the assailant pulled out a firearm and went on to shoot both individuals in the head and back, continuously firing without interruption.
Marie Delilles, who is married to Bladimy Mathurin, claimed that the conflict started when their downstairs neighbor began banging on the ceiling and subsequently approached them upstairs.
Authorities have reported that after the shooting occurred, the perpetrator used an elevator to descend to the lobby and fled the building, heading east toward Brooklyn Ave. From the crime scene, investigators have recovered a sum of nine shell casings and five bullet fragments.
