The viral social media post about the death of actor Eric Dane is sparking a lot of conversation, especially after a former Grey’s Anatomy background actor made a claim against him.

Laura Ann Tull commented on the death of the Grey’s Anatomy actor by saying that he “was a bully and an a-hole” in a reply to a Variety post on the social app Threads. However, this prompted many people to comment on the post, refuting Tull’s claim.

When a user on the app asked for proof of the claim, Tull replied that the actor had bullied her while working on the ABC medical drama Grey’s Anatomy, in which she had been a background actor for 3 years.

“He was a coward who abused me. Bullied me. Made fun of me,” Tull said in one of the replies. In another, Tull said, “He just died. I only wish he’d apologized & admitted what he did.”

Tull also said that she was the reason why Dane left the show, saying, “I am why he was fired from Grey’s.”

These comments are similar to those Tull made prior, writing about her time in Hollywood in a 2018 essay on the website Medium, in which she named Dane. She wrote that she had never spoken with the actor but assumed he had spoken about her.

“I worked on Grey’s Anatomy for three years as an extra, but I never spoke to Dane once directly. But I did hear him talk about me.”

Tull also wrote that she had been called “weird” by a third party, which led her to leave the industry.

No information supports Tull’s claim that she had a hand in Dane leaving Grey’s Anatomy.

Dane had spoken about his leaving the show, stating that budget and creative decisions had been made, with longtime cast members becoming too expensive for the network.

Dane had also struggled with issues, including prescription medication, although he stated that this had not been the reason he had left the show.

Dane had been a star on Grey’s Anatomy, playing Dr. Mark Sloan, also known as “McSteamy,” before going on to star in the HBO series Euphoria. The actor died on Feb. 19, at the age of 53, nearly a year after announcing that he had been diagnosed with ALS, a progressive neurodegenerative disease.

Dane had become an advocate for ALS in the months leading up to his death, discussing the disease.

Dane had died “following a courageous battle with ALS, surrounded by his loving family.”
