Diamond-certified and three-time GRAMMY® Award-winning hip-hop icon Future continues his impressive streak with the release of the much-anticipated MIXTAPE PLUTO today. The 17-track project arrives alongside the official music video for “TOO FAST,” directed by Kid Art. Set in the vibrant streets of Harlem, NYC, the video sees Future reflecting on the highs and lows of his fast-paced life, capturing the spirit of the mixtape.
PLUTO was executive produced by 808 Mafia’s Southside, with Wheezy serving as co-executive producer. The mixtape’s album art pays homage to the legendary Dungeon Family and the late Rico Wade, featuring the iconic Dungeon Family house in Atlanta bathed in infrared purple light. This house, home to their storied studio and Wade’s mother’s basement, is where Future’s career took root, making the imagery a fitting tribute to his origins.
True to its title, MIXTAPE PLUTO strips Future’s sound back to its raw essence, delivering a featureless project that showcases him at his purest.
In addition to the digital release, exclusive merchandise is available at Freebandz.com, including limited-edition t-shirts, CDs, and vinyl variants in both black and green. These items feature 11 core tracks from the mixtape, cementing the project’s importance with a collectible touch.
The release of MIXTAPE PLUTO follows Future’s two chart-topping collaborative albums with Metro Boomin earlier this year, WE DON’T TRUST YOU and WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU. The albums dominated the charts and the hip-hop landscape, earning critical praise and bringing Future his ninth and tenth Billboard 200 No. 1s. The single “Like That,” featuring Kendrick Lamar, spent three weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking one of the year’s biggest moments in music.
With MIXTAPE PLUTO, Future rounds off an incredible run of 2024 releases, offering fans a return to the raw, unfiltered sound that made him a rap trailblazer. As he continues to shape the future of hip-hop, this latest project solidifies his status as one of the genre’s most innovative and influential voices.
