The latest official trailer for “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” delves deeper into the film’s narrative, revealing tough antagonists and a complex plot.

The trailer begins with a mysterious “signal” that scares Godzilla and Kong alike. Unveiling a new titan-sized primate species lurking in Hollow Earth reveals that these beasts pose a major threat to Kong. Previously shown as a newborn in the first video, the species, commanded by the fearsome Skar King, now takes center stage.

The film’s human protagonists discover a frightening revelation: the newly discovered species has declared war on the Kong race. This revelation foreshadows Kong and Godzilla’s unusual cooperation, which mirrors their teamwork in “Godzilla vs. Kong” to defeat Mechagodzilla.

The clip features Kong’s Monarch-weaponized right hand and an enhanced color for Godzilla’s atomic breath. The action promises to take place in a variety of settings, including Hollow Earth, Skull Island, and the Earth’s surface.

The final minutes of the trailer show Kong and Godzilla standing side by side, roaring in unison. The visual extravaganza foreshadows the massive struggle ahead as the two famous giants work to defend humanity and the natural environment.

With a March 29th release date, fans can look forward to an exciting continuation of Legendary Pictures’ monsterverse, complete with epic battles, unexpected alliances, and a race against time to save the planet from looming disaster.

Meet “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” Cast and Crew

Director Adam Wingard once again takes the helm, leading a stellar cast that includes Rebecca Hall (“Godzilla vs. Kong,” The Night House”), Brian Tyree Henry (“Godzilla vs. Kong,” “Bullet Train”), Dan Stevens (“Gaslit,” “Legion,” “Beauty and the Beast”), Kaylee Hottle (“Godzilla vs. Kong”), Alex Ferns (“The Batman,” “Wrath of Man,” “Chernobyl”), and Fala Chen (“Irma Vep,” “Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”).

The screenplay, a collaborative effort by Terry Rossio (“Godzilla vs. Kong,” the “Pirates of the Caribbean” series), Simon Barrett (“You’re Next”), and Jeremy Slater (“Moon Knight”), is derived from a story crafted by Rossio, Wingard, and Barrett. This narrative is based on the iconic character “Godzilla,” owned and created by TOHO Co., Ltd.
