The movie Halloween debut in 1978 to a blockbuster opening and through John Carpenter’s mastery we met the masked serial killer Michael Myers and witnessed four murders in the fictional town of Haddonfield. Since then, the franchise has created 12 sequels including David Gordon Green’s 2018 Halloween which focused on the original movie but veered away from the prequels.
Green’s 2018 Halloween film resumed, Michael Myers had been imprisoned and Jamie Lee Curtis character Laurie Strode was traumatized and felt that although in jail, Michael Myers would still return to haunt her. The film managed to compel audiences with its surprising twist of events and Curtis acting. Halloween Kills is a direct sequel to Green’s 2018 Halloween.
Halloween Kills, directed by Green, focuses more on the citizens of Haddonfield and their individual journeys to end Myers’s terror. Green brought in actors who played minor parts in the original 1978 film and pays homage to the original Halloween. Anthony Michael Hall steps in to play Tommy Doyle, the little boy Laurie babysat for in the original film and Real Housewives star Kyle Richards reprises her role as Lindsey and faces a full showdown four decades later with Myers.
Halloween Kills teases another chapter by the end and Green and his team are already working on Halloween Ends which is due for release in 2022.
Interviews with Jamie Lee Curtis, Anthony Michael Hall, and Kyle Richards are below. Halloween Kills is in theaters today and streaming on Peacock.
