The police are searching for Esube “Izzy” Wondwossen, a 22-year-old Howard University student who went missing without a trace Tuesday morning after leaving a Metro station in Northern Virginia.
Wondwossen, who resides in Prince George’s County, was last seen leaving the Pentagon Metro station at about 7:57 a.m. on September 15, with her whereabouts next taking her to Arlington, Virginia.
The police say her disappearance seems to be very uncharacteristic, as her family fears that something bad may have occurred to her. According to reports by FOX 5 DC, her sister said that Wondwossen was a senior at Howard University and she was excited to graduate.
When she disappeared, she was wearing a black zip-up hoodie, black leggings, Crocs, a headband, and a tan Michael Kors tote bag. The police say that she is a Black woman, 5’1″ tall, and weighs 110 pounds, with a mole above her left eyebrow. Her physical description includes long brown hair and brown eyes.
The relatives have been combing through the area with the Black and Missing Foundation, listing her disappearance as one in potential danger. According to ARLnow, family members distributed flyers near the station and asked nearby businesses for footage, according to a spokesperson for the Black and Missing Foundation.
Arlington County police say they are referring any inquiries about the case to the Prince George’s County police, who are in charge of the search.
