Laura Dern paid tribute to the late Sam Neill, her longtime friend and co-star of the “Jurassic Park” series. The actor died at the age of 78.
It was revealed on Monday by the actor’s family that Neill died unexpectedly in Sydney, Australia, a couple of months after they released news that he was cancer-free.
In her statement, Dern spoke about their friendship, which began when they co-starred as Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant, respectively, in the “Jurassic Park” movies.
“Sam was my beloved lifetime friend… He showed me the depths of loyalty, protectiveness and love always with the driest of wit. A true and noble gentleman, who was wrapped up in my dream leading man. I will love you forever, Dr. Alan Grant.”
Dern and Neill starred together in the original “Jurassic Park” in 1993, a movie that helped form one of Hollywood’s most successful film franchises. Neill reprised his role as Dr. Alan Grant in various sequels, including “Jurassic Park III” and “Jurassic World Dominion.”
