The ‘Munch’ artist, Ice Spice, has been compelled to answer questions under oath as part of a lawsuit brought by a wig company claiming that she didn’t pay for over 25 custom-made wigs, according to newly obtained court documents.
The rapper is slated to appear for a deposition in September. Depositions are proceedings where an individual must answer questions under oath prior to the trial of a case.
The suit, filed by Thee Bella Brand LLC, alleges that Ice Spice and her crew never paid for the custom wigs and seeks compensation for over 25 wigs. The value of these custom wigs, according to the brand, is $20,000, and some of the wigs were inspired by looks worn by another female rapper, Nicki Minaj.
The situation began trending when the owner of Thee Bella Brand, Gia, accused the ‘No Clue’ artist’s team of canceling the wig order after the company had spent time creating the wigs, citing excuses such as repeatedly pushing back the payment date until they couldn’t fulfill it anymore. The wig company owner also claimed that Ice Spice’s team still refused to pay the agreed-upon service fee once the order was canceled.
Thee Bella Brand is suing for over $400,000 in losses.
The rapper, however, has already denied the allegations.
