Skylar Mae, who claims to earn more than $1 million per month, insists that a man’s bank balance is the last thing she considers when dating.
For instance, she would date a man who earns much less than she does. Her potential partner could earn $30,000 a year, and that wouldn’t be an issue.
“I would 100% date someone who earns significantly less than me,” said Mae. “They just need to be ambitious, working towards something and have a good career.”
“Actually, I will be happy as long as they’re a good human being, they’re happy every day, they work, and they’re very motivated in life,” she added.
As for Mae, how a man handles the money he earns matters much more to her than how much he actually earns.
“I just hope they’re a good person and they’re smart with their money,” the girl said. “Are you investing? Do you have a savings account? This stuff is more important to me than, honestly, anyone’s tax bracket.”
The young influencer says a potential partner may earn a tiny part of her income, and she won’t mind as long as he has his own ambitions.
“Yes, absolutely,” Mae said when she was asked if a potential partner could earn less than her. “I think it’s super important to have your own motivation that gets you out of bed every morning. I think that’s what humans run on. Do you have something you’re trying to achieve every single day?”
“It’s very important that they have their own goals and ambitions, even if they don’t make nearly as much as I do,” she continued. “They could be making $30,000 a year.”
Of course, having such a high monthly income may complicate dating. However, Mae said that she tries not to let her income affect her relationships.
“Yes and no,” Mae replied when someone asked whether her success complicates dating. “I don’t base who I’m looking for in a partner on money, so I would hope someone wouldn’t view me as ‘How much money do you make in a month?'”
Despite her monthly income, Mae says no man has ever told her he was intimidated by her success.
“No, surprisingly,” she replied. “But I feel the type of men that I go for in general wouldn’t be insecure, so I think that plays a huge role in it. I think they love how ambitious and motivated I am every day.”
As you can see, the young lady clearly shows she has no intention of reducing herself for someone who would be intimidated by her being the primary breadwinner.
“I’m very headstrong, I’m a bull, I’m a Taurus,” she said. “If someone is insecure about that, then they’re probably not my person.”
She also said she would be perfectly fine with financing a boyfriend, provided he wasn’t relying on her success to earn money.
“I don’t mind doing that, but they do need to have a job or something that gets them out of bed every day,” Mae said. “They need to have goals.”
As for attraction, the young lady insists that it is not about fancy dates; it is about small but significant gestures.
“Fun is number one,” she said. “I want someone who’s smart, a good person, and who’s close with their family. Honestly, helping out where it’s needed, even if it’s just taking out the trash or helping me clean up at the end of the day, impresses me more than money.”
Surely, the girl’s climb from poverty to an income exceeding $1 million per month has changed nothing in her dating criteria.
“Not at all,” she replied. “Anyone who thinks otherwise is totally wrong about me. I came from literally nothing, so I know what that’s like.”
“It’s hard to find a job where you’re making money as I do. I’m also just a crazy person who works 24/7, and that’s just what I like. Other people are different, including someone I could potentially date,” Mae added.
“Just because someone doesn’t make a million a month doesn’t change anything,” she said. “They could be making $5,000 a month, $10,000 a month, or $100,000 a year.”
As you can see, Mae emphasized that her success has only strengthened her belief that a person’s income cannot make him/her a better partner.
“It’s all about what kind of person they are at the end of the day,” the girl said. “You could be with a very rich man, and they could be the sh*ttiest person on Earth. I’ve met plenty of them.”
