Rep. Lauren Boebert delivered a profane answer to a Fox News reporter’s question on Sunday regarding reports alleging Boebert engaged in a relationship with Thomas Massie following his wife’s death.
According to West, Massie told her in the summer of 2024 that he had an intimate relationship with Boebert days after losing his wife, Rhonda. West claims she began dating Massie that same year. Neither Boebert nor Massie has confirmed or denied the report.
When questioned, Boebert was blunt in her answer.
“F— you, first of all,” Boebert said. “If you’re gonna bring me into this, like, this sexist stuff is like out of control. So there’s your clickbait that you were looking for. I don’t want to talk about anybody’s exes and their crazy s— that they do.”
Using X (formerly Twitter), Boebert explained that the claim against her is part of a series of “false attacks” on her reputation after joining Congress.
“When I first got to Congress, a NC blogger lied about me having abortions, taking drugs, and having an affair with a senator,” Boebert wrote. “All proven false by CNN. Now, it’s Fox News pushing deranged allegations by some freak in Florida.”
Boebert went further to criticize the network, adding, “REMINDER: Fox News refers to Transgender individuals as their preferred pronouns. They don’t recognize biological realities.”
Some people on social media pointed out that Boebert did not deny the allegation.
“She didn’t answer the question,” one person said. “Notice she didn’t deny anything!” added another.
Cynthia West chimed in, “I only spoke truth, about everything.”
One man was supportive and commented, “Lauren Boebert is right, this stuff is blatantly sexist and gross, spreading rumors with no facts is not journalism, it’s paparazzi.”
The tension within the GOP following Massie’s primary loss was on full display today.
