The wait is finally over for superhero fans. Warner Bros. Pictures has finally dropped the teaser trailer for Superman, DC Studios’ first feature film of the new era. From the visionary behind Guardians of the Galaxy and The Suicide Squad, James Gunn, comes this reimagined take on the Man of Steel that promises heart, humor, and heroic action to the fore.
Slated to hit theaters and IMAX nationwide on July 11, 2025, Superman marks a new beginning for the beloved DC icon. Gunn, who also penned the screenplay, has written a story that centers on Superman’s steadfast faith in humanity and his empathy—a return to the character’s core as envisioned when Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster first brought him to life.
The film stars David Corenswet (Hollywood, Twisters) as Superman/Clark Kent and Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) as Lois Lane. Nicholas Hoult (X-Men series, Juror #2) plays the brilliant and sinister Lex Luthor. The ensemble cast also includes Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk, Pruitt Taylor Vince, and Neva Howell.
Behind the scenes, Gunn assembles an impressive team of creatives, including cinematographer Henry Braham, production designer Beth Mickle, and costume designer Judianna Makovsky. Music is by John Murphy, with editing by Craig Alpert, Jason Ballantine, and William Hoy.
The film Superman, produced by the co-heads of DC Studios, Peter Safran and James Gunn, becomes a point in DC’s cinematic universe where a vision steeped in epic storytelling meets emotional depth.
Catch Superman flying into theaters and IMAX nationwide on July 11, 2025, and into international theaters starting July 9, 2025.
