This video was circulation several hours ago on Twitter. It clearly shows officers kneeling on a man’s neck until he is unresponsive. The have confirmed that George Floyd life was taken away by these police officers.
George Floyd was seen in the video saying I can’t breathe so many times after being unresponsive.
According to Inside MPD, “Two officers arrived and located the suspect, a male believed to be in his 40’s, in his car.”
The officers put this man into handcuffs and on the ground because they thought he was a suspect. The officer then puts his knee on his neck for whatever reason because I’m pretty sure they don’t teach that at the police academy.
The two officers later called for an ambulance. Floyd was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center…where he died a short time later.
At no time were weapons of any type used by anyone involved in this incident. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has been called in to investigate this incident at the request of the Minneapolis Police Department. No officers were injured in the incident. Body worn cameras were on and activated during the incident. So we should expecting the police department to release that in the next week or so.
The GO number associated with this case is 20-140629.
