Renowned comedian and actor Kevin Hart has found himself entangled in a legal battle with controversial blogger Tasha K, who is no stranger to legal troubles herself. According to legal documents obtained by The Blast, Hart is suing Tasha K for allegedly attempting to extort $250,000 from him to prevent the release of a damaging interview.
In November 2023, Tasha K reportedly sent a representative from her blog to Kevin Hart’s team, claiming to have an exclusive interview with Hart’s former assistant, Miesha Shake. The documents reveal that Tasha K demanded the substantial sum, threatening to unveil the potentially damaging interview unless Hart complied with her financial demand.
In response, Kevin Hart promptly issued a cease and desist order, asserting that Tasha K lacked permission to discuss any “story” about him and made it clear that he would not be paying her any money. Despite this legal warning, Tasha K defiantly posted a snippet of the exclusive interview on her platform, prompting Kevin Hart and his legal team to interpret the move as a threat.
The lawsuit filed by Kevin Hart alleges that Tasha K engaged in “criminal conduct and tortious acts,” making him entitled to monetary damages should he decide to pursue civil litigation. The legal documents state, “To the extent that you do not cease and desist now, your liability for such monetary damages will increase, as will your exposure to criminal penalties.”
Furthermore, Kevin Hart emphasized the potential implications for Miesha Shake, as she had reportedly signed a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) during her employment. Any disclosures made by Shake in the interview could, according to the lawsuit, implicate her in violating the terms of the NDA.
