Khabib Nurmagomedov Announces His Retirement From UFC

Khabib Nurmagomedov has announced his retirement from mixed martial arts after successfully defending his UFC lightweight title against Justin Gaethje at UFC 254.

Khabib, whose father died in July from complications caused by COVID-19, said “there’s no way I’m going to be back without my father.” He promised his mother this would be his final fight now he no longer has his father by his side, and he says he will keep his word.
