A clip from a Kick streamer XimenaFlaka’s stream began to trend on various social media platforms this week after she appeared to call her horse a racial slur.
XimenaFlaka is seen handling a lead rope and petting the animal in the 20-second video. In the segment shot in a stable, she called the horse the slur while asking it to stop biting its leash.
“Stop trying to bite on your leash, [N-word]. I’m scared,” she said in the clip. “Okay, I just f—ed up. I f—ed up. I’m gonna get canceled regardless. Oh well. Stop, stop. Bro, I’m scared. Bro!”
The video, which has over a million views, was met with humor by many, including the tendency among Latino creators to nonchalantly use the slur, in addition to reactions.
“Hispanic people use [the slur] when it doesn’t even need to be used … Like why are u calling ur horse a [slur],” one Twitter user wrote, claiming that the use of the word felt exhausting.
Another commented, “BRO LMFAOOOO?? That’s how yk they love saying it cause y r u calling horse a [slur].”
More severe opinions also appeared. One expressed the idea that non-Black people “are always using that word in such a nonsensical way” and joked that the streamer’s horse should be biting her.
Another remarked that the word was “literally so easy” to avoid and felt angry when seeing anyone use it on a regular basis.
The streamer had a sense that the incident would prompt a response.
