Klay Thompson Checks Patrick Beverley and Jason Williams for Disrespecting Megan Thee Stallion

Dallas Mavericks shooting guard Klay Thompson is unhappy about statements from Patrick Beverley and Jason Williams regarding his girlfriend, rapper Megan Thee Stallion. Thompson has been receiving criticism this season for his lack of contributions to his team’s games.

In yesterday’s episode of the “Hoopin’ N Hollerin’” podcast, Williams asked questionable questions regarding Thompson’s relationship with the rapper, claiming that Thompson’s level of play has diminished because he’s been dating Meghan.

“It only takes one p**** to drag a battleship across the desert. That’s how powerful it is,” Williams told Beverley. “Klay Thompson, I ain’t sayin’ that’s what it is … but that might be what it is.”

One day later, Thompson posted a biting Instagram comment in response.

“Referring to my GF as a ‘p****’ is so disgusting and disturbing,” Thompson posted. “Especially from someone who played in the NBA. How would yall feel if I referred to your wives in such a way ? @patbev21”

“Do better fellas. Very disappointing.”

His girlfriend has yet to respond to this, but I am sure this is only the beginning of this story.

After an impressive run as one of the best in Golden State Warriors’ history, Thompson decided to sign with the Mavericks for season 2024-25, to form a big three lineup consisting of Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic, and later Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis.

Thompson’s scoring figures declined in the previous season, but this season is an altogether different story altogether as he is averaging 8.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.9 assists, accompanied by a shooting percentage of 32% from the field, 28.9% from three, and 100% from free throw range, attempting 0.5 free throw attempts per game.

Despite acquiring rookie Cooper Flagg in the 2025 Draft as well as signing D’Angelo Russell, they remain at 3-9 for the season. The poor start of the season led to them dismissing general manager Nico Harrison, who traded away Doncic to the Lakers in February.
