Atlanta’s own Latto has the music industry buzzing as she previewed the release of her new single, “Sunday Service,” which is due to debut on Friday, February 9th.

According to speculations, the song will make subtle references to her ongoing spat with fellow hip-hop peer Ice Spice, raising excitement. The feud between Latto and Ice Spice has raged for months, with claims ranging from style imitation to other unnamed issues.

Notably, Ice Spice teamed up with Nicki Minaj in 2023, sparking a public fight between Latto and Minaj the previous year. In turn, Latto found an unexpected ally in Minaj’s competitor, Cardi B, with whom he collaborated on the song “Put It on da Floor Again.”

A video teaser for “Sunday Service” was released in January, showing a background view of Ice Spice on a television screen, accompanied by Latto’s fascinating statement, “I just want a one-on-one, I don’t know why she’s so nervous.” The clip only increased conjecture about the track’s likely target, Ice Spice.

The cover art for “Sunday Service” adds fuel to the flames, including an image of Ice Spice with a roster of female rappers, including icons like Lil Kim and Missy Elliott, as well as rising sensations like Sexxy Red and GloRilla. The collage reveals a purposeful selection of individuals, deepening the song’s narrative.

Interestingly, sources say that Latto just filmed footage in Ice Spice’s homeland of the Bronx, escalating their apparent enmity. Latto reportedly shot a music video for “Sunday Service” in a Bronx neighborhood, raising hopes for a visually striking release.

Regarding Ice Spice’s song “Butterfly Ku,” there are rumors that suggest it has a subliminal diss track directed at Latto. On “Fine As Can Be,” a song that appears on Offset’s Set It Off album, Latto is rumored to have responded.
