On the evening of March 6, 2023, the National City Police Department was contacted by a concerned parent who suspected that her 13-year-old child was possibly having an inappropriate relationship with a former teacher.
National City Police Detectives and School Resource Officers immediately began investigating the allegation.
On the morning of March 7, 2023, officers developed probable cause to arrest 34-year-old Jacqueline Ma, a current teacher at Lincoln Acres Elementary in National City. Ma was booked into Las Colinas Women’s Detention Facility on numerous felony charges. Ma subsequently bailed out of jail and was released from custody.
Since that time, NCPD detectives have continued to actively investigate this case. As a result of the ongoing investigation, NCPD detectives developed probable cause to re-arrest Jacqueline Ma on additional felony charges.
On March 9, 2023, NCPD detectives conducted a surveillance operation and arrested Ma in the 3300 block of National Avenue in the City of San Diego. Ma will be re-booked into Las Colinas Women’s Detention Facility. Her bond is set at $100,000.
The National City Police Department will not be releasing any additional information about this case as the victim is a minor and the investigation is ongoing.
