Crunchyroll announced that SPY x FAMILY Season 3 premieres on October 4th and will be simulcast globally (other than Asia) with simultaneous episodes in Japan each week. What’s more, the new trailer features some of the promised upcoming content and the series finale theme, “Actor” from Lilas, which is in my playlist.
Being an otaku person, I would say this is more than just a season release, but an event. SPY x FAMILY attracts shonen fans, chance Netflix viewers, and moms who think Pikachu represents all anime.
What the Trailer Provided
The trailer suggests a crazy season of heart and spooks. Anya keeps up the gremlin shenanigans, Yor is torn between dinner and killings, and Loid tries in vain to keep up the family farce while world peace hangs in the balance.
Lilas’s “Actor” is cinematic and moody in style, and that suits the dysfunctional wholesomeness of the Forgers just fine. Conclusion themes can provide the emotional final touch on an arc, and this one has classic written all over it.

WIT STUDIO x CloverWorks is in charge, with Yukiko Imai directing and Rino Yamasaki in series composition. Expect vibrant, edgy animation that will render breakfast scenes as tense as that of the spy raid.
