McKinzie Valdez, who you all know as a social media personality, says she’s quit OnlyFans and found Christianity, revealing to her followers that she wants to move away from adult content and use her social media presence for a more positive purpose.
She revealed the news in a video on social media, saying the reason for quitting was a spiritual experience that led her to “give her life to Christ.”
“This is my explanation for why I quit OnlyFans,” Valdez said. “I don’t want to quit social media because I think I can use my platform for really good and keep using it.”
Valdez said she had over 1 million followers even before turning 16. She started an OnlyFans account when she turned 18, saying fans had been expecting it.
“I think a lot of people were waiting for and expecting it, which I think is really weird. It’s a little predatory looking back,” she said. “I can see the patterns in society now; the same thing is happening to a lot of other girls.”
However, she said she had a change of heart after experiencing a religious epiphany. She said that as she prayed and “accepted Jesus into my heart and into my life,” she felt a “supernatural peace.”
“When I was saved in that moment, I felt this supernatural peace wash over me,” Valdez said. “I got visions of how God sees me and how much he loves me and how much he loves you.”
After that, she has been making some major lifestyle changes, including deleting some of her social media posts and throwing out some clothing items she felt did not align with her new beliefs.
“That night I got home, I deleted over half my Instagram posts,” she said. “Today I cleaned out half my closet. I threw away so many clothes that I felt conviction about.”
Valdez stated that she still plans to maintain a presence on social media, but does not know what content she will produce.
“I do want to keep posting,” she said. “I don’t know exactly what this means for me or for the rest of my life, but I’m excited.”
People who have interacted with Valdez online have had a wide range of reactions to the change. For instance, a commenter on a TikTok video stated that “the OF thot to Jesus freak pipeline gotta be studied.”
Valdez has also released another video defending her new faith and explaining why she converted.
“If you know the word of God, you’d know Jesus Christ can redeem anybody,” she said. “It doesn’t matter what they’ve done if they’re truly repentant. God knows your heart.”
She also stated that people who have had difficult or even somewhat scandalous pasts can still change.
“God’s strength works best in weakness,” Valdez said. “People who had a really sinful reputation can come to the light and be truly transformed by Jesus. There’s a real testimony in that.”
She hopes that maybe her change will have a positive effect on others.
“I feel like I have a responsibility to everyone I’ve led astray at least try, even if it’s just one person, to move them closer to the truth,” she said.
