Mexican influencer Adriana García, who created content on lifestyle, beauty, fashion, and travel, died at age 30 in Culiacán, Sinaloa.
According to Proceso, the death of the woman on July 21 was announced by Drop Shop, which was a Culiacán-based brand García used to collaborate with as a model. The company honored her memory with a social media message announcing the death of one of its family members and recalling how warm and devoted García was.
Online publications as well as the local media outlets report that the death of García could be associated with complications from her cosmetic surgery in a private clinic in Culiacán. No information about the official cause of death was revealed, and her family did not confirm the claims about the reason, as El Universal says.
Speaking of the matter, Cuitláhuac González Galindo, the head of the Health Department of Sinaloa, said that his department currently has no official information about the cause of death of García. All the required investigations would be carried out, and the cause of death will be determined by the attorney general’s office, as Univision notes.
The Sinaloa attorney general’s office has not released any information concerning the death of the influencer, as adn Noticias says.
García, a native of Culiacán, was an active influencer whose Instagram account attracted approximately 47,000 followers while she had over 45,000 fans on TikTok, according to El Universal. On Instagram, she posted content about beauty products and travel, as well as about her daughter, Gabriela, and her latest post, dated July 1, depicted her trip to Los Cabos, according to El Diario de Sonora.
Her tragic death caused a lot of reactions and posts on social media where the influencer’s collaborators and fans paid their respects to her memory, calling her a beloved creator and entrepreneur and asking to be respectful towards the family. At the same time, the case was investigated by the authorities, according to Infobae. Her family stated that García will always live in their memory.
With her death, the safety of the cosmetic procedures performed in Mexico once again became the object of discussion. From 2014 to 2025, at least 121 people died due to plastic or cosmetic surgery in Mexico. Twenty-two deaths occurred in 2023, making that year the deadliest, and eighteen people died in 2025, according to the investigation of Animal Político and journalism platform CONNECTAS, which was published in March 2026, and reported by Proceso.
Notably, García is not the first Mexican influencer to die in the course of a cosmetic procedure. 29-year-old TikToker Asli Fernández passed away in January 2025 because of a reported thrombosis resulting from her procedure, which her partner blamed on medical negligence. Also, an animal rights activist and model, Elena Larrea, passed away at 30 years old due to a cause connected to a cosmetic procedure, according to adn Noticias.
García is survived by her daughter, Gabriela.

I make over $220 an hour while working from home and looking after my two kids. I was hesitant at first, but when my friend, who earns more than $35,000 a month, encouraged me to try it, I went for it. It’s been amazing! I have more time and money than I ever thought possible. Want to see how?
