Sweet Home, the world’s first K-creature series, will return for its second season on December 1st. Sweet Home Season 2 follows Green Home survivors and Hyun-su as they fight to survive in new places in a world where desire has turned monstrous, while other beings and mysterious phenomena emerge.
Returning Characters in New Settings
The date announcement poster depicts a dilapidated baseball stadium as the setting for the upcoming season’s narrative.
The main characters are forced to leave the Green Home, the site of their previous monster battles, and venture out into the world. Survivors have gathered in what remains of the stadium to form a community, but they are still on high alert. The developing plot promises increased suspense as the characters face new dangers in various environments, where they must battle both external monsters and their own monstrous desires.
Song Kang reprises his role as Hyun-su, who is shown in the date announcement trailer being transported in a cage to an unknown location. Under the scrutiny of a voice that claims to have been waiting for him, Hyun-su asks obstinately what he needs to do. What can Hyun-su do as survivors continue to face the threat of monsterization and groups of monsters on the rampage? Is he truly the savior capable of rescuing everyone from this nightmare?
Expanded Stories and World-Building
Director Lee Eung-bok consulted with writer Kim Kanbi and had in-depth discussions about the hidden premises in the original webtoon and the expanded world-building in the upcoming season to craft this unique narrative that expands on the original webtoon.
Piquing curiosity about the new stories, director Lee says,“It is going to be a full-fledged apocalyptic drama. While Season 1 portrayed tension and fear in the confined space of the Green Home, Season 2 will be set in an open space with the introduction of a whole new group of characters and monsters.”
Actor Lee Jin-uk affirms, “This season will present a world that diverges from the original webtoon. As the world expands, there will be more to think about.” Actor Lee Si-young heightens the excitement for how the story will unfold, explaining, “A vastly sprawling world awaits the characters after they leave Green Home. Everyone will go through major changes.”
Prepare for an influx of new creatures and thrills in ‘Sweet Home’ Season 2 on Netflix on December 1st.
