Naomi Osaka Will Not Participate In Any Press Conferences At The French Open

Naomi Osaka will not be participating in any news conferences during the French Open, she announced on social media yesterday.

She said her decision was motivated by her mental health.

“I’ve often felt that people have no regard for athletes’ mental health and this rings very true whenever I see a press conference or partake in one.”

Osaka posted the same message on Instagram and even posted an old Serena Williams interview when she was 14 years old. In the video, it seemed like the interviewer was trying to make her second guess herself. She also posted the famous “I’m just here so I don’t get fined” video by Marshawn Lynch.
