Netflix is set to enchant audiences with a new romantic comedy series titled “Too Much,” created by multi-award-winning writer, director, producer, and actor Lena Dunham, best known for her work on “Girls” and “Catherine Called Birdy.”

Working Title Television, a division of Universal International Studios, and Dunham’s Good Thing Going will co-produce the series with her husband, Luis Felber. The series will include original music composed by Luis Felber as a musical touch.

The plot follows Jessica, a New York workaholic in her mid-thirties, as she deals with the fallout from a failed relationship and considers a life of solitude in London. Her plans, however, are derailed when she meets Felix, a character described as less Hugh Grant in “Notting Hill” and more Hugh Grant’s eccentric roommate. Their strange connection becomes unavoidable, ushering in a series of challenges that force them to question whether Americans and Britons truly speak the same language. “Too Much” promises to be an ex-pat rom-com for those who are disillusioned by love but hopeful for its enduring magic, combining Dunham’s creative prowess with the producers of “Love Actually.”

Megan Stalter, best known for her role in “Hacks,” will play Jessica, while Will Sharpe from “The White Lotus” will play Felix. The show features a talented cast and is co-created, written, and directed by Lena Dunham.

“This is a show that is very close to my heart – created with my husband Luis, cast with my favorite actors – the geniuses that are Meg and Will, along with a bevy of friends,” Dunham said of the project. She emphasized the collaboration with Working Title as well as Netflix’s strong support for the vision, emphasizing the goal of creating a romantic comedy that balances the joy of love with the complexities of real life.

The production will begin in the United Kingdom in 2024, with a release date that is expected to captivate audiences worldwide. “Too Much” promises to bring Netflix laughter, love, and the unexpected, continuing Netflix’s commitment to diverse and engaging content.
