Peacock has officially unveiled the trailer for Strung, a psychological thriller movie directed by Malcolm D. Lee. The film will debut on Friday, June 26, 2026.

Strung is about an accomplished violinist who accepts a coveted position to tutor the talented daughter of a wealthy yet enigmatic family. However, as she becomes immersed in the lavish lifestyle, some secrets unravel, and she begins to question her safety, aspirations, and sanity.

Malcolm D. Lee, who is famous for comedy films and drama movies, ventures into a new genre through this movie. The director was attracted to the script’s mystery and unpredictability and decided to produce the movie.

“I love a good suspense thriller and a solid narrative that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats,” Lee explained. “I hadn’t had the privilege of directing a film in this genre, but when I read Alan McElroy’s script, I knew I had to dip my toe in this water.”

Additionally, Lee says that Strung is filled with amazing visuals, great acting, and an excellent score, “that is, if your heart and nerves can withstand the suspense.”

Strung will feature actors Chloe Bailey, Lynn Whitfield, Lucien Laviscount, Anna Diop, and Coco Jones. Alan McElroy is both the screenwriter and executive producer of the film.

Tyler Perry, Jason Blum, Tim Palen, Lee, and Dominique Telson produce the film through Peachtree & Vine, Blumhouse, and Blackmaled Productions. Executive producers include Philip Waley, Shaun S. Sutton, McElroy, and Giselle Johnson-Morris.

Strung debuts on Peacock on June 26, 2026.
